Terms of Service
This is the agreement between you and RankGhost. It covers what the service does, what it costs, what we promise, and — just as importantly — what we do not.
Effective 7 October 2026 · RankGhost, operated by Ctrldigit Technologies LLP
1. Accepting these terms
By creating an account or using RankGhost at rankghost.net, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. If you are agreeing on behalf of a company or client, you confirm you are authorised to bind them.
You must be at least 18 years old to hold an account.
2. What the service actually does
RankGhost measures two things for a domain and keyword, and it is worth being exact:
- Google position. We check the top 50 Google results for your keyword in the market you choose and report your domain's position, or that it was not found within those 50. The same check records whether a Google AI Overview appeared and whether it cited you. Searches run through a third-party search data provider.
- AI citation. On AI plans, we put your approved prompts to AI engines (currently ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity, through their providers' APIs with web search on) and record the answer, whether it mentions your brand, and whether it cites your domain.
Paid plans run these checks automatically on a schedule that depends on the plan, and you can start extra checks yourself within your plan's allowance. API answers are snapshots: they do not reproduce every answer a person might see in the consumer apps.
We may change, add, or retire engines and features. If a change removes something you are paying for, we will tell you before it happens.
3. What we do not promise about results
Read this section even if you skip the rest. It is the part people are surprised by.
- Search results are a moving target. Google results vary by location, personalisation, device, and time. A position we report is what our provider observed at that moment, not a universal truth.
- AI answers are non-deterministic. The same query put to the same engine minutes apart can return different answers and different citations. A "not cited" result is evidence, not proof of absence.
- We depend on third parties. If a search data provider, an AI provider, our hosting or database provider, or PayPal fails, rate-limits us, or changes their terms, checks may fail or be delayed. We do not control them. A check that fails on our side is returned to your allowance.
RankGhost reports measurements. It does not promise rankings, traffic, revenue, or that acting on a finding will improve any of them. Decisions you take on the basis of our data are yours.
4. Your account
You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure and for everything done through your account. Tell us promptly at support@rankghost.net if you suspect unauthorised access. One account is for one person or organisation; do not share logins to circumvent plan limits.
5. Plans, billing, and cancellation
Each plan's limits and price in US dollars are listed on our pricing page. The plan and price shown when you subscribe are the ones that apply to you. The Free Audit checks a small number of prompts once and needs no card.
Paid plans are billed in advance, monthly or yearly, through PayPal, and renew automatically until cancelled. Prices exclude any taxes you may owe in your own jurisdiction. We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice to existing subscribers; a change applies from your next renewal.
Cancelling stops renewal, and you keep your plan until the end of the period you have paid for. The account then moves to Free: your data is kept and anything beyond the Free limits is paused. Changing plan starts a new subscription and cancels the old one.
Refunds follow our Refund & Cancellation Policy, which forms part of these terms. In short: monthly payments are not refundable, and an annual payment is refundable within 7 days if less than 10% of its checks are used.
6. Acceptable use
Do not:
- Resell or relay the service, or expose our checks to third parties as if they were your own API.
- Automate abuse — scripting the interface to exceed your plan limits, or running checks you have no legitimate interest in.
- Share accounts — letting several organisations use one account to get around plan limits.
- Track unlawfully — using the service to harass, or to process data you have no right to process.
- Attack the service — probing, overloading, or attempting to reach another account's data.
- Break the chain — using RankGhost in a way that puts us in breach of a third-party provider's terms.
7. Who owns what
You own your data — your projects, keywords, queries, and the results generated for you. You grant us only the licence needed to run the service: to process that data, send it to the providers in section 5 of our Privacy Policy, and display the results back to you.
We own the service — the software, interface, and branding. These terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use it, nothing more.
Search snippets and AI answer text we capture belong to their original publishers. We store them as evidence for your reports; you are responsible for how you republish them.
8. Warranty and liability
The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that results will be accurate or complete.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these terms is limited to the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, or business opportunity — even if we were advised such damages were possible.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
9. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the service and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms, that we are legally required to act on, or that is causing harm to the service or other users. Where circumstances allow, we will warn you first. On termination, your right to use the service ends; sections 7, 8, 10 and 11 survive.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Pune, Maharashtra have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, and you and we both submit to it. Before filing anything, email support@rankghost.net — most disputes are a misunderstanding that a reply resolves.
Nothing in these terms removes rights you have under consumer protection law that cannot be excluded by contract.
11. Contact and grievances
RankGhost is operated by Ctrldigit Technologies LLP, a limited liability partnership registered in India, at 312, Gera Imperium Gateway, S. No. 2656, P Metro Station, C.T, Nashik Phata Flyover, opp. Bhosari, Kasarwadi, Pimpri-Chinchwad, Maharashtra 411034, India. For any question or complaint about the service, billing or these terms, email support@rankghost.net.
Grievance officer: Raj Hirvate, support@rankghost.net. We acknowledge complaints within 48 hours and aim to resolve them within one month.
12. Changes to these terms
We may revise these terms. The effective date above will change, and for material revisions we will email account holders before they take effect. Continuing to use RankGhost after that date means you accept the revised terms. If you do not, cancel and stop using the service.
If any provision is held unenforceable, the rest stays in force. Our not enforcing a provision is not a waiver of it.
